November & December News

November 18th – we’ll be closed on this Friday as the church is holding its’ annual bazaar.
Instead we’ll be open on Wednesday 16th, usual times.

World AIDS Day support – November
Members coming along for lunch are invited to give a few written lines (or more if you’d like) about how HIV has affected you, or your community. These will be anonymous, and displayed in the upstairs foyer at the Positive Hope service of remembrance and solidarity at Dorset Gardens on World AIDS Day. Please support this by sharing your thoughts if you can – a few words make a great difference to helping the wider community understand HIV and its’ impact.

December 1st – Help needed. Lunch Positive is street collecting in St James’ Street on December 1st. If you can give up an hour or two to do this alongside a volunteer, we’d really value the help. Please let us know.

December 10th – Evening fun ‘Quiz’ event with Outdoor Positive & Peer Action
We’ll be helping and providing a buffet at an evening quiz night with our good friends from Outdoor Positive & Peer Action.
Tickets are available at the Lunch Club and from these groups.

December 2nd – Community Lunch
We’ll be having our usual Friday lunch, and to coincide with World AIDS Day we’ll be inviting people from other HIV community and support groups. All the volunteers will be having a break from the usual duties to spend opening time together with members and visitors over opening hours.
There is no charge for lunch on this day – it will be ‘donations only’.
Lunch for this day is supported by Brighton & Hove City Council LGBT Workers Forum.

December 16th – MEMBERS CHRISTMAS MEAL. Open 11.30 – 15.30
Our annual Christmas Lunch. Bigger and better than before!
We’ll send out a separate mail out and flyers will be at the lunch club closer to the time.

December 23rd – We’ll be open on this day from 11 am – 2pm, hoping anyone who would like to come along for some company before Christmas arrives will join us.
We’ll be providing food parcels for members in need over the Christmas period.
